U16 Fusion Plays at the River City Showdown

The ladies in orange traveled east to Mason City Ia. last weekend and played some great softball against a couple of very solid club teams from North East Ia. Fusion went 2-3 for the weekend finishing one game out of the championship.

The first game on Saturday saw Fusion against the club of Waverly Shell Rock/High School team. The girls played a good game but were defeated 3-0.

Game two on Saturday brought to us the Thundering Herd from Canada; Fusion dominated that game from start to finish. The final game on Saturday was against the North East Ia. Invasion, another tough loss for the Fusion woman.

Fusion began Sunday with a number 5 seed; we played the #4 seeded Chickasaw’s and beat them 9-1. We wanted to play the Waverly/Shell Rock club again and we got what we asked for! The game was 0-2 through 4 innings when the Rock put 1 run on the board. The Fusion ladies answered with a Mahon triple followed by a single from Kayla M. The Rock put two more runs on the board in the 6th and Fusion could not answer.

This was a great test for our girls as this was a combined 16u and 18u tournament and we requested to play the older teams. NICE JOB FUSION!!!

16’s Travel to Brandon

The 16u Fusion ladies traveled to Brandon for a late night double header on May 5th 2009. With only a couple weeks left of school the girls had more on their minds than just softball. It was that time of year to start cramming for finals, and that they did, between innings! Fusion beat the Lady Lynx in the double header 2-0 and 3-0.
