SD Fusion Black go 4-1 at Irish Bash
It was another successful weekend of softball for the South Dakota Fusion Black May 30-31 at the Irish Bash in Rosemount MN. Fusion went 3-0 in pool play Saturday and got to within one game of the championship before bowing out Sunday afternoon.

Saturday started with a 7-5 win over the Smitty’s from Winnipeg Canada. In the second game of the day, Fusion Black held off the high powered home team Minnesota Irish Gold for a 4-2 win. In Saturday’s finale, Fusion notched an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Rebels, a team we had played previously and only beaten by a run. Laura Hurley, Emily Nichols and Lizzie Palmer each went the distance in the circle to get the wins. Click here to see photos of the tournament.
Sunday started with a splash as Fusion Black scored 4 runs in the first inning en route to an 11-1 win over the Prior Lake Lakers. The win earned Fusion Black a rematch with the Irish Gold team. Black had runners on throughout the game but couldn’t get them across the plate and fell 11-2 to the eventual champions. See Video Highlights >>
