Five Fusion Players Receive All-State Recognition for Fall High School Season
Five players from the Fusion 16 & under team were recognized on the All-Tournament Team at the Fall High School State Tournament. Those recognized were:

Kiah Schaefbauer, O’Gorman High School – As the O’Gorman Knights top batter, Kiah led the team in At-Bats with 63, Hits/22, Batting Average/.460, RBI’S/17, & stolen bases/22! In addition Kiah tied for the lead in Walks/9 and Doubles/4. Kiah also emerged as a very strong shortstop, not only smart and savvy with game situations, she really stepped it up physically and made most plays! Kiah had a tremendous O’Gorman High School Season.

Maegan Lipetsky, O’Gorman High School – Maegan was 2nd on the O’Gorman Knights Softball Team with 60 At Bats, Hits/22, Batting Average/.366, RBI’S/16, & Walks/5! For the Fusion, Maegan is a catcher, for the Knights, Maegan is asked to pitch. “Maegan did a great job pitching for us, she really baled us out and threw strikes and also pitched with her head, very very impressive” says coach Keith S. Maegan had a great Fall Season.

Kayla Munger, Vermillion High School - As a lead-off hitter, Kayla posted a .549 batting average and a .625 on-base percentage for the Class B Tanagers. She also stole 15 bases in 16 attempts during the fall season. Vermillion finished their season with a 12-5 record and finished fourth at the High School State Tournament.
Amanda Walters, Honourable Mention, Washington High School – Amanda was a top pitcher for the Warriors: she had 9 Starts, 6 Wins, 1 Loss. Amanda pitched 41 1/3 innings, allowed 36 hits, struck out 37, and walked only 6. Amanda’s ERA was 1.86! Amanda hit the ball very well this fall, she has a ton of power and hit many balls to the fence. Dub is a top player for the Washington Warriors!
Jenny Bye, Vermillion High School – (Not pictured) Jenny was named to the All-Tournament team at the High School State Tournament for the third time! She hit .300 with 13 RBI’S this past fall. As the Tanagers top pitcher, she struck out 91 batters in 58 innings! Jenny joins the SD Fusion for the upcoming 2009 season!
