South Dakota Fusion Black: Runners Up in the 2008 Ringneck Invitational
South Dakota Fusion Black within one out of winning the 14u "A" bracket of the 31st Annual Ringneck Invitational in Sioux Falls, July 4th-6th.
Fusion Black started hot with two lopsided wins in pool play Saturday afternoon. But as the weather cooled Saturday night, so did the bats. When the sun rose Sunday morning, no one knew just how heated up the Black's bats would get, as the team again put on an offensive display all day long. It  lasted through the championship game Sunday, as Fusion Black took command of the game early, holding a 6-2 lead as time expired. It was then that the Omaha Quakes got going and were able to push across just enough runs to get a 7-6 win.

| Fusion Black will be back in action the next two weekends trying to capture the Sioux Falls city league championship, followed by a South Dakota State championship. The girls leave August 21st for Overland Park, Kansas where they will compete in the USSSA World Series. |
