South Dakota Fusion Black: City Tournament Champions (Continued)
Brandon, SD - July 12-13
South Dakota Fusion Black was crowned champions of the Sioux Empire Fastpitch Softball Association 14u Competitive Division Sunday July 13th.
 Fusion Black finished ahead of the other 12 teams competing in league play. Fusion Black went 2-0 and allowed no runs Saturday to advance quickly through bracket play, then squeaked out a win against Vermillion Sunday morning, before sending the only other undefeated team, the Sioux Falls Heat, to the losers bracket. The Heat battled their way back to the championship game where Fusion Black , who would have to be beaten twice, jumped to an early game 1 lead and went on to the win to seal the championship. Fusion Black begtins play in the South Dakota State Tournament Friday, July 18th and leaves for thier final tournament of the season, the USSSA B Nationals in Overland Park Kansas on Monday, July 21st. |
