South Dakota Fusion Black at the ASA Hall of Fame Tournament
June 12-14, Oklahoma City, OK.

South Dakota Fusion Black returns to the Rushmmore state after spending last week on the red dirt of Oklahoma at the ASA Hall of Fame Tournament in Oklahoma City. Fusion Black went 0-3 on the weekend, but this was about a lot more than wins and losses. We wanted to give our girls a chance to play against the best in the country, and to see what they can achieve if they continue to work.
Fusion Black faced the Mizuno Pride from Torrace California first. Up 1-0 in the fourth, the Pride was able to score 2 more runs to go up 3-0. Despite having runners in scoring position numerous times, Fusion Black couldn't push a run in and lost 7-0.

Game two pitted the Black against the Texas SK Tazers. We were stunned early, and then struggled in the heat and lost 11-0.
Game three on Saturday morning was the highlight of the weekend, as Fusion Black was honored, like the South Dakota Fusion teams before us, to play in the Hall of Fame Stadium against the Texas Fusion. We wanted to get everyone involved for this once in a lifetime opportunity and kept girls moving in and out the whole game. Kayla Taylor hit a huge triple off the Texas Fusion pitcher, and a Laura Hurley single scored Taylor. We lost the game 11-1, but all the girls will have a lifetime of memories.
Our kids and coaches learned a lot on this trip, and got a chance to do a lot of team bonding. We will bring a lot of it back to South Dakota with us where we begin trying to get to the next level.
Fusion Black will be back in action June 21-22 in the ASA SEFSA Memorial Tournament in Sioux Falls, followed by the Ringneck on the Fourth of July weekend.
